Climate: Even though the country is equatorial, there is no constant rainforest climate. Rainy season prevails in the highlands (e.g. Nairobi – 1.820 meter above sea level) from April until June and October until November, during which it mostly rains during the night, in the afternoon or evening. The nights are often cool. July and August are the coldest months with average day temperatures of approx. 10°C. The warmest average day tempretures of approx. 25/26°C occur during the months January and February. The medium humidity lies at about 65%. More rain, but also higher temperatures occur at the Victoria Sea. The moderate climate is responsible for an enjoyable stay in the highlands. From April until June it most frequently rains on the coastline for example in Mombasa, oppose to January and February being the driest months. Variations in temperatures of between 22 and 32°C as well as a medium humidity of 75% are common.
