throughout the year. The best season depends on the focus for your safari. Directly after the rainy season, the dry months April to August have pleasant day temperatures but very cold nights, especially in the coldest months June and July. In the Okavango Delta the water level rises during those months and the long grass makes game viewing a bit more difficult. The dry and hot months September and October are especially good for safaris in the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. The animals venture close to the camps. Most spectacular wildlife encounters happen during this time. The rainy season from November through to March is characterised by hot day temperatures accompanied by rain showers as well as high humidity. The rain showers do not occur daily, but vary regionally and are mostly quite brief. Vegetation becomes green and lush. Game viewing is best done in the Kalahari region this time of the year.

[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1586956563772{margin-right: 10% !important;margin-left: 10% !important;padding-top: 15px !important;padding-right: 5px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;padding-left: 5px !important;}”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text el_class=”button_general”]

Enquire Now

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”100px”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”LOCATIONS” tab_id=”1583951613413-eb8e2e52-2805fd83-4a52″][vc_empty_space height=”60px”][vc_row_inner content_placement=”top” gap=”5″ css=”.vc_custom_1624195929277{padding-right: 5% !important;padding-left: 5% !important;}” el_id=”reise-block”][vc_column_inner el_class=”column220″ width=”1/3″][vc_images_carousel images=”5289,5269,5271,5273,5275,5279,5283,5285,5287,5281,5291,5293,5295,5277″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]

Xigera Safari Lodge

[/vc_column_text]
MORE INFO

Close

Xigera Safari Lodge

Moremi Game Reserve /Okavango Delta, Botswana

www.xigeracom

Xigera (pronounced Keejera) Safari Lodge is the utmost of luxury in the Moremi Game Reserve and is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Nestled in a magnificent riverine forest, Xigera Safari Lodge consists of 12 exclusive suites showcasing the finest African artisans. Selinda Spillway is the only connection between the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti Swamps. The camp offers a fabulous view over open floodplains dotted with palm islands. Small lagoons characterise this remote, beautiful and animal rich game reserve.

This luxury camp offers accommodation in 4 tents, out of which one is the Selinda Suite. Each tent is covered under thatch with a spacious en-suite bathroom and a large private veranda with swimming pool. The design of each tent is unique and somehow also goes back to the Robinson Crusoe feel, including textures of rope, rooms under thatch, lots of space, nautical elements and salvaged wood. The beautiful en-suite bathroom consists of double basins, a copper bath, separate indoor shower and separate toilet. The tents feature a dressing area, writing desk and small seating area and are solar powered with an environmentally friendly air-conditioning system over the bed and an additional fan. On the private terrace of each tent is a fitness bike for some exercise, a refreshing plunge pool and sun loungers to enjoy the view under comfortable shade of the thatched roof. Yoga mats and weights are provided in each suite.

The Two-Bedroom Selinda Suite is a villa, which operates separately and exclusive, as guests of the Selinda Suite enjoy their own private guide with safari vehicle, their own chef and villa host.

The main area of Selinda Camp consists of two lounges and various dining areas with a traditional fireplace. Guests might like to browse in the boutique or enjoy a glass of wine from the climate-controlled walk-in wine cellar. Optional massages are possible either in the spa room or in the privacy of your outdoor terrace.

The area around Selinda Camp is also known for its lions, cheetahs, wild dogs and elephants. Early morning game drives using open safari vehicles followed by an open-air brunch, afternoon game drives with sundowners that blend into a night game drive with spotlights, occasional bush dinners and short walks either from camp or during game drives are included activities at Selinda Camp. Further, there is the possibility of boat safaris in the picturesque lagoon, which are especially unique and wonderful during both morning and afternoon hours. Boat safaris are obviously water dependent and may sometimes not be possible, especially from about November onwards until about June.

[vc_empty_space height=”10px”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner el_class=”column220″ width=”1/3″][vc_images_carousel images=”5247,5235,5237,5239,5233,5243,5245,5241,5251,5249″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]

Jack’s Camp

[/vc_column_text]
MORE INFO

Close

Jack's Camp

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Botswana

www.naturalselection.travel

Situated on a tree and palm covered island, which overlooks vast golden grasslands of the Makgadikgadi National Park in the Kalahari Desert, the newly renovated Jack’s Camp offers a unique opportunity to explore the Makgadikgadi Pans and to understand the Kalahari. The Makgadikgadi, an extinct super lake bigger than Switzerland, is one of the most important wetland sites remaining in Africa. In the wet season, the Pans fill with water attracting flocks of flamingo and other migratory birds.

Accommodation is provided in 9 spacious tents. The decoration is authentic and traditional safari style, yet comfortable and stylish, including many thoughtful and unique details. The roomy, classically styled tents, each with en-suite indoor and outdoor shower and overhead bed cooling system are set into a palm grove creating an oasis of civilisation in what can be the harshest of stark environments. Each tent also features a lounge area and a private plunge pool on the terrace.

There is a large mess tent with bar, interesting artifacts and maps of the area. Guests can while away the afternoon in the tea tent with its Persian carpet floor, chess set, games chest and wind-up gramophone or refresh in the unique swimming pool pavilion.

During the rainy season from about November to March activities include game drives to experience the annual wildebeest and zebra migration and bird walks to observe migratory waterfowl breeding and feeding sites as well as watching amazing flocks of flamingoes on the pans filled with water. Other activities, that are possible all year round include a visit to the habituated meerkats, night drives to view the unique desert wildlife, guided walks with Bushman trackers and a visit to the historical Baobabs. During the dry season from about April to October an expedition onto the Salt Pans on 4×4 quad bikes give guests the opportunity to experience the vast emptiness of this incredible, mysterious area. The area then is completely dry and looks totally different to the wet season.

Jack’s Camp offers a complete desert experience focusing on species unique to the area such as brown hyena, meerkats, gemsbok and springbok, as well as the geology, archaeology and anthropology of the Kalahari and Makgadikgadi. Walks are led by licensed guides who are firearm experienced and can only be carried out at the discretion of the manager.

[vc_empty_space height=”10px”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner el_class=”column220″ width=”1/3″][vc_images_carousel images=”1304,1310,1312,1314,1308,1300″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]

Duba Plains Camp

[/vc_column_text]
MORE INFO

Close

Duba Plains Camp

Okavango Delta, Botswana

www.greatplainsconservation.com

Located on a tree-covered island in an approx. 35.000 ha private concession known as the Kwedi Reserve, Duba Plains Camp is one of the most remote camps in the Okavango Delta. It is setting new standard parameters for the luxury safari camps in Botswana. The vast open floodplains that flood seasonally are a highlight, complemented by waterways and a number of larger wooded islands, one of which is home to this small camp that prides itself on personal service and superb wildlife viewing all year round.

Accommodation at Duba Plains Camp consists of 5 tented suites, each with en-suite bathroom, outside shower and veranda with panoramic vistas of the Okavango Delta floodplains. Each tent has its private plunge pool, outdoor sala beds and each is equipped with Canon professional cameras and lenses as well as Swarovski HD binoculars for guests to use during their stay.

In addition, there is the Two-Bedroom Tented Duba Plains Suite, which is ideally for the sophisticated family traveller. This suite is operated separately with exclusive use of safari vehicle and guide as well as own hospitality team. It is ideal for anyone, who is seeking utmost privacy.

The thatched lounge, dining and bar areas are raised along on wooden platforms to better appreciate the breath-taking views. WiFi is provided in guest tents.

A variety of activities is offered at the camp, including day and night game drives, often tracking the buffalo herd around the concession. Also on offer are leisurely nature walks, which are guided by a professional guide Boat cruises are dependent on the seasonal water levels.

Duba Plains Camp offers the perfect Okavango wildlife experience in summer, winter, spring and autumn. Bird watching is superb and the wildlife concentrations on the open plains, along the waterways and in the denser forests are a highlight. Duba is one of the best areas for elephant, while large herds of red lechwe are commonly spotted, along with hippo, crocodile, kudu, impala, mongoose, warthog and even leopard. The area is most famous for its lions and the area’s huge herds of buffalo. One herd at times aggregates to over a thousand animals. The open plains and their nutritious grasses combined with clean clear waters are the perfect home for large numbers of buffalo.

The area has more to offer than ‘just’ lion and buffalo. There are also herds of elephant feeding on the islands and hippo wading out into the deeper channels. Tsessebe and blue wildebeest dot the plains, while red lechwe are found on the fringe of the wet floodplains. Spotted hyena can also be seen in their own age-old conflict with the lions. Birdlife is abundant and impressive in the Okavango Delta, with Rosy-throated Longclaw, Slaty Egret and Wattled Crane often sighted.

[vc_empty_space height=”10px”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner el_class=”column220″
