As a result of this, the climate does not change much and the country can therefore be visited throughout the year. The long rainy season tends to be from February to May and the short rains fall from October to November. This however varies in different areas and it can rain any time of the year, especially in the gorilla park areas. Travelling can take longer in the rainy season, but the views are often better. Gorilla trekking can be muddier and more demanding, but it can certainly be done. The temperatures generally range between 21°C and 30°C during day time. The nights usually don’t get cooler than 15°C. In the mountainous areas it is much colder than on the plains and the rainfall is greater. Here you could experience rather Alpine temperatures. Our advice is to travel, when it is most convenient and usually the rain, which is often for short periods, is part of the great experience. A guest may avoid trekking in the ‘official’ rainy season only to find that it pours throughout his visit during another period! For this reason camps are not closed during the rainy season as they do in other countries with savannah landscapes.

[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1586956563772{margin-right: 10% !important;margin-left: 10% !important;padding-top: 15px !important;padding-right: 5px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;padding-left: 5px !important;}”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text el_class=”button_general”]

Enquire Now

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”100px”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”LOCATIONS” The lodge is set on approx. 2.800 m above sea level and only a few minute drive from the main entrance to the Parc National des Volcans.

The drive from Kigali only takes approx. 2-3 hours. Alternatively there is a helicopter service, which takes approx. 40 minutes from Kigali right onto the helipad on the Sabyinyo property.

Accommodation at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge comprises of 5 cottages, 2 suites and 1 family house with two en-suite rooms. All are stone buildings with Rwandese terracotta tile roofs. The cottages are about 54 m² in size and feature a sitting area with fireplace, an en-suite bathroom finished with Venetian plaster, a dressing room and a sheltered veranda. The suite has an extra sitting area and offers slightly more space with about 69 m² in size, it also features two terraces. The family suite has a second bedroom with en-suite bathroom and fireplace, although the second bedroom is smaller and the second bathroom has no bath but just a shower.

Optional activities offered from Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge include the trekking to view the Mountain Gorillas, perhaps one of the most dramatic, thrilling and poignant wildlife experiences possible. Also recommended are treks to see the fascinating and beautiful Golden Monkeys, which are found in the bamboo forests on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains and who provide an entertaining viewing as they leap from tree to tree and frolic in the open clearings of the forest. Other activities on offer include visits to the lakes Kivu, Burera, Ruhondo and Karago or a visit to Dian Fossey’s memorial and research centre. Sabyinyo also offers Mountain Bikes for guided bike tours in the surrounding as well as guided walks in the neighbourhood, also with focus on bird watching.

[vc_empty_space height=”10px”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=”bottom”
