Why South Africa
What to expect
This vibrant capital with approximate 3,7 million inhabitants captivates it’s visitors with a wide variety of options. Enjoy breathtaking views over the city and the peninsula from the top of Table Mountain. Besides great shopping possibilities, the city centre also offers architecturally interesting buildings as well as the colourful Bo-Kaap residential quarters. Another interesting excursion is a visit to Robben Island, learning more about Nelson Mandela and the history of South Africa. Relaxation can be found during a day on the beach, enjoying an excellent lunch along False Bay or spending some time in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
This tremendous landscape with its majestic mountain ranges is situated a mere one hour’s drive from Cape Town. Charming towns like Franschhoek and Stellenbosch are internationally celebrated for their exceptional wines. Explore beautiful wine estates and treat yourself with an exclusive dinner in one of the renowned restaurants.
Madikwe Game Reserve
In this malaria free private Game Reserve you could get the chance to see the so called ‘Big 5’, being elephant, leopard, rhino, buffalo and lion as well as other animals during an unforgettable safari. Should you be planning an extraordinary safari in a malaria free region, this reserve is in our opinion most suitable and conveniently reachable with an approx. 1 hour flying time from Johannesburg.
South Africa is an exceptionally family friendly country. No matter what age your children are, here you find suitable options to having designed your holiday in such a manner that both the parents as well as the children take memorable holiday moment’s home with them. In the meantime even young children are welcome in some of the top quality safari establishments. Furthermore South Africa also offers a number of malaria free regions, so that entire holidays can be planned through malaria free areas. As we have travelled numerous times with our own children in South Africa, we are especially pleased to advise you on this aspect.
Because of the good infrastructure in South Africa, it is well suited for self drive tours. We certainly also organize privately guided tours for you or a combination of both. Most of the safari areas are most comfortably reached by plane.

currently there are direct flights from Frankfurt as well as Munich to Cape Town? You fly over night and only during the European winter months is there a one-hour time difference. There is virtually a no more comfortable way to reach an overseas destination. Cape Town, also called ‘The Mother City’ of South Africa, can also be perfectly combined with the Kruger National Park through several direct flights.
If you are thinking of extending you journey with a beach stay by the Indian Ocean, there are new direct connecting flights from Kruger National Park to Maputo as well as Vilanculos, which is the so called ‘gateway’ to the Bazaruto Archipelago. This means that you could be enjoying breakfast in the wilderness and a late lunch by the Indian Ocean on the same day within one and the same holiday.
As a wonderful finale to your South African journey, I would recommend Hillsnek Safari Lodge in the Amakhala Game Reserve. This good middle class lodge near the Addo Elephant National Park convinces with welcoming hosts, relaxed ambience and impressive wildlife sightings in a malaria free area. Your professional guide dedicates his time to giving an understanding of the animal and plant kingdom to guests both aged and young. The small lodge is owner-managed and also offers a tent for families where children and parents can sleep under one roof. A stay in this lodge can be materialised at an absolutely moderate price. mit seiner romantischen Hügellandschaft begeistert zwischenzeitlich auch erfahrene Safarikenner.
